The Accounting Specialist ensures that Fee for Service billings for all payment systems such as the New Jersey Substance Abuse Management System (NJSAMS) and New Jersey Medicaid Management Information System (NJMMIS) is completed timely and accurately.
The specialist also assists with other billing as well as other accounting and administrative functions when needed.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Lead staff for all Fee for Service (FFS) billing which includes:
a.
Billings for Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) clients, which are funded primarily by NJ Department of Human Services (NJDHS) Division of Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) b.
Billings for other enhanced services provided to residential clients, for example, Case Management, Psychological Evaluations, etc.
c.
Outpatient billings for SUD and Mental Health Services, including billing for allowable services for Medicaid recipients.
2.
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate, complete and auditable data is maintained including a.
Census data for residents b.
Supporting records for outpatient services 3.
Submit results of urine tests weekly for Work First clients 4.
Complete billing from other new revenues sources as they are identified 5.
Follow-up on uncollected billings 6.
Generate revenue reports for Management and Board as needed 7.
Attend training and initiate self-directed learning for all billing processes.
8.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
9.
Perform other tasks as needed to support the Finance and Administration functions.
10.
Any other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related field and 2 years of experience or Associate's degree in related field and 5 years of experience or High school diploma or equivalent & 7 years of relevant experience.
Data entry skills Organizational and time management skills Experience with Fee for Service billing at a substance use disorder and/or Mental Health provider highly preferred.
